We sometimes see students turn away from Yoga, as they feel they don’t have the ideal “Yoga body”. Kim wants to change this. With her own hip and feet challenges, she has had to learn to adapt on the mat, and believes this should be common place and the norm during classes. Kim teaches Yoga for All. Classes are accessible to students of all ages, shapes and sizes. Leaving the individual feeling centered, empowered, excited by life and their own potential. Having worked in Health and Wellness for over 20 years after graduating as a Registered Nurse, empowering people to better health, has always been a focal point for Kim. Experienced in Mental Health, Older Adult, Community Nursing and management, Kim gained further qualifications in Clinical Nutrition and Herbal Therapy, before working in her own Practice for many years. Kim is motivated by her own experience of poor health, but mainly her recovery. Over a period of 10 years, and prior to becoming a Clinical Nutritionist, she was struck down with serious illness. Highly medicated, her health continued to decline to the point where Doctors gave little hope of improvement and a return to normal life.
Following a long and difficult recovery which combined various treatments and techniques, Kim discovered that providing the body with healing food, nutrients and the practice of Yoga, can make a huge impact on one’s health and wellbeing. Adding these simple and often overlooked changes to the treatment plan, not only allowed Kim to lose over 40kg, but fully recover from an illness which was labeled as treatment resistive.
With further training in Healthy Aging, Restorative Yoga, and Yoga for All, Kim aims to support and encourage the individual to find peace, gain personal awareness and acceptance. While exceeding their own goals and expectations, both on and off the mat.
